Nicole Agresto, Psy.D.
I am very excited to have started Bay Area Psychology, with one of my closest friends, Dr. Allison Tarbox. I am a Florida licensed psychologist who specializes in working with children and adolescents. I have 25 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, with a Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology concentration from Montclair State University, in New Jersey. I continued my education at the Florida School of Professional Psychology, earning another Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology.
In regards to some of my clinical training, I completed my Pre-Doctoral Internship at Palm Beach County Youth Affairs working with children, adolescents and their families in both outpatient and residential settings. My Post-Doctoral Fellowship was completed in the Hillsborough County school system working with kindergarten through high school age students.
Previous to opening Bay Area Psychology, I served as the Clinical Director of a Nonprofit Community Mental Health Center in Tampa. Currently, I am a member of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital interdisciplinary Craniofacial team. The Craniofacial clinic treats conditions in children such as Cleft palates, Cleft lips, Craniosynostosis, 22q11.2 Deletion (Velocardiofacial syndrome), and Treacher Collins syndrome. My role as part of the Craniofacial team is to assess and make recommendations for any developmental, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties the child may be experiencing. Additionally, I work with the parents regarding the stressors and challenges of having a child with medical needs.
The therapeutic services I offer include therapy and psychological assessments. I provide therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. I have extensive experience, treating issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, academic difficulties, low self-esteem and other behavioral, emotional and developmental concerns. I also have experiences working with individuals experiencing grief, divorce, academic struggles, parent-child relationship difficulties and other significant life changes.
In addition to therapy, I also provide psychological testing. I conduct comprehensive psychological testing for concerns such as ADHD, Autism, academic difficulties, family issues, developmental, behavioral, emotional, and social concerns. I also provide psychoeducational and gifted placement evaluations.
